Puppy Socialization: Introduce Your Puppy to Handling |
Many dogs feel anxious about handling and restraint, especially if they find new experiences scary or if they have had bad past experiences. They may associate being held still with something unpleasant about to happen. However, by introducing handling and restraint positively from the start, you can teach puppies that being held is a sign of good things to come! |

CTP of the Month: Robin Horemans |
| “Unfortunately, biting is a common issue with companion parrots. After analyzing the situation—including her environment, history, and physical health—I realized that Ruby's biting wasn't due to “dominance” or a lack of clear cues. Ruby's wing and tail feathers had been clipped and this, combined with her already wobbly baby feet, made her feel insecure and unstable. I focused on her physical limitations and building up her confidence through balance games, gradually allowing her wings and tail to regrow. Ruby eventually learned to step onto hands confidently—and even to fly.” Read more from our CTP of the Month, Robin Horemans. |
